Add a pop of color to your style this season with Y2K hair accessories. Nostalgic accents like butterfly clips can turn simple styles into vibrant, eye-catching looks.
After pinning creative butterfly clip styles to my hair looks + accessories Pinterest board, I hopped on the trend by styling my curly hair with pink, floral, and butterfly accents. This easy butterfly clip hairstyle brings total spring vibes!

Step 1: Curl Refresh
Give your curls some love. Split your hair with a rat tail comb into four sections parting down the middle and from ear to ear. Spray hair with water, and slowly detangle from ends to roots while applying small amounts of oil when needed. After finishing each section, braid loosely.
Reflection: When I started styling, my hair needed some refreshing, so I took time to detangle and rehydrate using Tangle Teezer's Wide Tooth Comb and Naturally Curly Brush. These tools shortened my detangling time while still treating my hair gently.
Step 2: Business in the Front
Gel + braid time. Undo your two front loose braids. Slick down the sections with a brush and gel. Grab hair from the top of each section, braid down, and tie off with a rubber band, leaving curls at the end. Pull back the slicked sections into a low ponytail.
Reflection: I used a little Wetline to finger-coil the ends of my braids.
Step 2: Party in the Back
Time to shine. Undo your two back loose braids once they are dry (wet braid outs are likely to frizz). Fluff hair to your liking. Decorate with butterfly clips and other hair accessories.
Reflection: I put flower clips on the top, middle, and bottom of my braids. Three butterfly clips went on each side of my curly fro. Pink rhinestone clips were placed on the top and middle of my hair.
